4.0 is coming sometime next year, Diablo 4 isn't even coming Blizzard soon, so it's not clear they're going to be competing. D4 might come around PoE 5.0 or something.

Pretty much all threads comparing D4 to PoE are sort of a joke, because both being partly controlled by Tencent means that any "competition" between them is more in the form of a sock puppet show.

in my book, the best scenario is the one where both games are great and you can hop between both at will.
it'd take some magic to make poe feel as smooth though (doesn't look like PoE is getting a new engine anytime soon, if at all.)

I don't think PoE will have anything to worry about. I know I won't be touching D4 if it has limited trade. So, GGG you win in my book (unless you announce in 4.0 that you are removing trade, then I say to hell with both games)
