4. If you prefer a build guide that has a video linked to it.

Build Enabling Items:

Chains of Command is really the only mandatory item. For magic finding you'd want to foucs on getting as much Quantity as possible from your gear, items such as:
Ventor's Gamble, Bisco's Collar, Bisco's Leash, Perandus Blazon, Spinefuse Talisman, Sadima's Touch, Goldwyrm or even a white socket corrupted Pariah ring are great options to sort your increased Quantity with!

Keep in mind you still need to cap your resistances and maintain somewhat of a decent life pool to avoid dying!

Besides the Unique items it's highly recommended to purchase a Vagan FOIL which is a specific type of weapon with the Vagan mod "Hits Can't Be Evaded" on which the Animate Guardian will be wielding. This can either be purchased from Vagan himself or from poe.trade.

Defence & Utility

Once the build gets going you'll have a lot of weapons acting as meatshields and also brings an insane ammount of DPS killing most things almost instantly.

Convocation is able to be used defensively to surround yourself with an army of blood thirsty weapons.

Pantheon Choices:

Pantheon List

Major God:

- Soul of the Brine King
Helps avoid getting chain stunned

Minor God:

- Soul of Shakari
Basically just an additional layer of defence to avoid missing a bleed on you when you're speeding through maps

__________________________________________________________________________

Skill-gems & Setups:

Mobility:

- Shield Charge, Faster Attacks, Fortify

Utility:

- Convocation, Immortal Call, Cast When Damage Taken
Note: I personally prefer lvl 3 CWDT with a low lvl IC but it's all a matter of taste. You can even run with Convocation being at a low lvl making it proc when you take dmg as well, so you don't have to self-cast it. I found it better to be self-casting it vs bosses which is why I kept it at a higher lvl.

- Vaal Haste, Elemental Weakness, Flesh Offering, Increased Duration

Auras:

- Generosity, Anger, Wrath, Portal
Note: Portal is not mandatory, it's just really nice to have :)

Animate Weapon: (Chains of Command sockets)

- Minion Damage, Elemental Damage with Attacks, Increased Duration, Elemental Focus, Added Lightning, Added Cold
Note: Gems are listed in order of efficiency.

Animate Guardian:

- Animate Guardian, Fortify, Minion Life, Minion Damage

Animate Guardian Gear:

Weapon: Best weapon (outside NA/Lyco combos) is: Ornament of the East
Another option is: "Hits Can't Be Evaded" weapon sold by Vagan preferably a Foil. You'd want to Augment, Regal, then benchcraft Attack Speed unless you got that from Augmenting or Regaling the weapon. If you can't find any other weapon with "Hits Can't Be Evaded" will suffice till you get a Foil with that mod on.
Shield: Victario's Charity

The rest of his gear really doesn't matter you can use anything that grants him extra life/defence or you could look into utility items such as:
Leer Cast, Victario's Flight or even Sadima's Touch.

Other items more in line with increasing his damage done would be items such as: Hyrri's Ire, Wake of Destruction, Thunderfist or even Abyssus.

So besides the weapon & shield there are a lot of option you can decide on yourself!

Skill-tree & Ascendancy Nodes:

Ascendancy Nodes:

The nodes you'd want to have before switching over to this Magic Find approach is:
Puppet Master
Commander of Darkness
Mistress of Sacrifice
If you've done Uber Lab you'd want to take Invoker as well.

Finished skill-tree

Notes:
Once the skill-tree is finished, just focus 100% on more jewel slots.

Leveling:

THIS BUILD IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO LEVEL AS MENTIONED AT THE TOP OF THE THREAD!
Instead you'd want to check out any of these guides which are extremely similar tree wise to this build before opting over to this magic finding:

Solar Guard Spectre Guide: https://youtu.be/e1yjoRaiCSY
Lich Queen Guide: https://youtu.be/q1xRpnP7JLU
SRS Baron Guide: https://youtu.be/mfN9jmLZcm4

Bandits:

- Kill them all, they give nothing of proper value for you.

Gearing & Stat Priorities

What base items to use:

The base items of this build really doesn't matter as we don't care about the base defensive stats such as armour(str), evasion(dex) or energy shield(int). So instead the base items will follow the stat priority listed in this guide.
However, the attribute requirement of the items will base how hard it is to chrome (color) which will be the only thing we will think about when planing our gearing.
So, if you need 4 blue sockets in an item the recommendation is to get an item that has Energy Shield (int) base or a hybrid base which includes Energy Shield (int).

By using this chrome calculating website: https://siveran.github.io/calc.html you can easily track how hard it will be to chrome the colors you need. This YouTube playlist can help a lot for new players and also includes a few tricks when coloring items with the "wrong attribute requirements" for your build: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuu-MdPs0Af8A4e3gSsJ1xDKNNcdFwY1r

Defensive Stats:

1. Life
2. Resistances

Offensive Stats:

1. Minion Damage

Jewels:

Abyssal jewels are the best choice to get Flat Life as well as "%minion dmg when you've used a minion skill recently"

Flasks:

1x Seething Divine Life Flask of w/e suffix
1x Ample Eternal Life Flask of Staunching
1x The Writhing Jar
1x Ample Granite Flask of Warding
1x Ample Quicksilver Flask of Heat

Recommended Unique Items:

Spoiler
Brightbeak Chains of Command the other items are listed in the Build Enabling Items at the top of the guide showing you different ways of increasing your Quantity for the Magic Find approach.

You should be fine running this around lvl 70+ if you're careful. Just make sure the Atlas is sorted before you do this.

Just curious, why aren't you using kongor's undying rage for the guardian weapon?

I'm doing a similar build, and this seemed like a great item considering how cheap it is.

https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Kongor%27s_Undying_Rage

Currently leveling up my necro to use this item, just hit maps and I'm looking forward to hitting 70 to try it out.

Interesting thing to note, is that with spirit guards, you get a separate counter for animate ranged weapon, so I was thinking of running animate weapon skill gem targeting only ranged weapons while the guardian's weapon takes up the 50 spots for AW.

So far, the best synergy appears to be in elder/shaper wand or helm.

The wand has the best sockets, but you lose the ability to shield charge, so I'm thinking of grabbing a helm with 20 minion damage to run AW ranged weapon as a 5-link.

This is all theory though, so I'm not sure how well it will perform, or if it's even necessary, but I was hoping to run something along the lines of minion damage-gmp/volley-pierce-animate weapon-accuracy

Hey,

Ornament of the East has better attack speed making it a LOT better in terms of DPS over Kongors or any of the other 2h hit's cant be evaded weapons. It also removes the charges generated by the AG from the Victario's Charity!

If you're using Lycosidae with Necromantic Aegis keystone from the tree then you can use any weapon you'd wish tbh with high atk speed/high dmg.

I will be updating the PoB link for this build within the next 5min as the weapon choice was incorrect there. You can always play around in PoB with different weapon choices if you wish but Ornament is without a doubt the best choice and it costs almost nothing.

Damn, that's really interesting. So you already tested with kongor's and found ornament to be dealing higher DPS? I'm definitely going to give that a shot!

Victario's is nice, I ran it before on a guardian, but I found that the guardian was rarely getting kills once the map started snowballing so I switched it to springleaf to make him a little more tanky for tough encounters.

I have tried necro aegis in the past before lyco's price went sky high, and I found that the DPS boost was great but the survivability trade was not worth it for AW builds, so I never get it anymore.

Now that I know that ornament works better, my head's spinning for ideas around leper's alms and trying to self-inflict ailments on the guardian to prolif them to enemies.

@Ironstove:

Well, I both tested it and played around a lot with PoB.

I personally see no reason to run Lyco setup when Ornament is solid AF as it is :)
